I've done a fair share of beveled fins over the years.
Practice on scrap balsa, not the fins supplied in the kit. Buy one of the Great Planes Easy Sander blocks shown above - they are the best for this type of work.Chris Michielssenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06907925631001358372noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3612012025300219489.post-56341913154725503302018-01-08T21:19:43.504-05:002018-01-08T21:19:43.504-05:00How did you get the bevel angle so consistent? How did you get the bevel angle so consistent?Benhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09772311349781893475noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3612012025300219489.post-27657229408931714292017-03-22T15:06:00.701-04:002017-03-22T15:06:00.701-04:00I was mainly mentioning the sizes for the benefit ...I was mainly mentioning the sizes for the benefit of folks reading this blog. If you order through a hobby shop dealing with R/C aeroplanes, they're apt to give you the 11" or longer and not the 5.5" (as you noted, this size would be what you want for LPR rocketry use).
You can also find similar "tee-bar" sanding tools, though I find those to be less comfortable due to the narrower grip.Naoto Kimurahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02762712349150120196noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3612012025300219489.post-67117771378173600092017-03-22T13:05:55.787-04:002017-03-22T13:05:55.787-04:00Hi Naoto,
