All these R/C Rocket Gliders were made using the large nose cone and 2" body tube from the discontinued Estes Cosmic Interceptor kit.
Frank produces the R/C Rocket Glider kits from Dynasoar Rocketry.

While you are on the website, check out the videos - very impressive!
Note: The Trident styled model in the lower right isn't a rocket glider.
I've wanted to build one of these for a while, but the cost of the AT RC case is something I have not been able to swallow yet.
ReplyDeleteHi Metal,
DeleteI like the models too but have no R?C equipment or R/C experience. It would be a large initial expense.I thought it was amazing how many different models he has done, especially the X-15 and Interceptors.
I wonder how tough it would be to fly one of these like a conventional boost glider?
ReplyDeleteI agree that the cost of the hardware is high, even for a basic setup. But look at it this way: think of all the money you save by being able to recover gliders that would otherwise be lost to the wind or the limitations of your launch site. At least, you can tell that to the Mrs. ( Wink). BAR Geezer
ReplyDeleteDo you have any info Trident/Interceptor in the picture on the bottom right? That looks pretty cool!
ReplyDeleteHi Bill,

I don't know if the trident is available or not.
You'd probably have to contact them via email.
