Launch Lug Dressing and Seam Filling

The ends of a launch lug usually aren't cut clean.
Sand and square them up with 400 grit on a sanding block.

Reshape (and re-round) the ends using a smooth, sharpened, dowel. Simply rotate the dowel in both ends of the lug.

I fill the lug seams off the model.

Two toothpicks are used to hold it when painting on the thinned Carpenter's Wood Filler. (CWF)

Sand off the excess CWF using 400 grit sandpaper on a block. you can easily see it left in the lug seams after sanding.

For some reason, the CWF stays in launch lug seams better than in a body tube.

The CWF is water based, it won't seal up the lug. Glues will stick just as well with the seams filled.
