There are two reducers and one nose cone on the Defender.
To get a good, clean seam between the end of the balsa and the tube brush on filler just a little bit over the edge where the tube will sit.
Notice I've pulled the tube slightly away from the reducer before brushing on the filler.
Then push down the tube so it seats on the reducer end.
Turn the tube forcing the filler into the reducer lip and squaring up the edge.
Open up the tube and reducer slightly.
You can see where the filler is wide over the top of the lip.
That's okay, it'll be sanded off during the next step after it dries.
