These fins had a wide laser cut "wedge" on one side. (Left side)
On the right is the second fin sheet flipped over.
It took a lot of laser to cut through this "balsa".
There was plenty of left over wood on either side of the fins.
I cut it off and threw it into the spare parts box.
The wood was so dense the knife blade
squeaked when the fin tabs were being cut through!
This was hard wood!
The fin edge on the top shows the blackened edge sanded about halfway. The wedge cut is still showing.
The inset picture is after the burnt edge and fin tabs were sanded smooth.
