After some discussion about the Estes DUDE rocket, Fast Cargo said it best:
"Man, ya gotta love the old school haters who don't like rockets that are different.
You know one of the rockets kids like to see launch? The Pop Fly...a rocket shaped like a bat with a foam baseball on top that separates at apogee. Kids love recovering that rocket.
Good on Estes for at least attempting to try something unique.
People bitch and moan about there not being enough originality in various entertainment options today (reboots anyone?) but have no problem whining when someone tries something different in their hobby...

Would I buy and fly a DUDE?
Probably not.
But anytime someone brings one to a launch I'm right there with a camera ready!
It's always slow and funny.
I have both the pop fly (the kids do love it...) and a Dude. I bought the Dude on eBay for next to nothing and will probably pull it out for my Cub Scout rocket launch in April. The boys will think it's hilarious.
