TLP Pershing #K046 Build, Part 7, Body Tube Seams
On a tube this big I should have used the George Gassaway technique of masking and exposing just the seams for a shot of primer filler. I used my standard Titebond M&TG on a old knife blade to get the filler into the seams.
The seams were wider than normal, that should have told me there was going to be problems.
TIP: When you use T M&TG to fill tube seams, let the filler fully dry.
If it hasn't fully dried, it can be knocked out of the seams during sanding. Apply and wait 24 hours before sanding.
On narrow gap seams the T M&TG stays in the seams pretty well.
On wider seams it can be knocked out when sanding.
There was quite a few open seam gaps that will need to be filled again. It took a third application of filler to get all the seams filled.
