Before spraying, rub down the edges and seal them.
I use a Q-tip. It's cushioned and gives a bit letting you get into the tight areas.







TIP: Here's the dumb tip of the day.
If you ever feel the need to touch and see if the paint is dry, don't touch the exposed sprayed surface.
You first impulse is to touch the painted area.
Touch the tape outside and away from the fin.

Because the mask is a few layers, remove the tape starting with the last pieces you set down.

With your knife start a tear in the bag with your knife. Tear and peel away the bag around the masking tape.
Then peel off the masking tape leaving the last layer of Scotch tape in place.

This has been shown before - 
Peel the edge mask down and away from the paint line.
The tape is actually being pulled down over the tape still on the model.
Note the angle the tape is pulled down.
