Pre-orders are being taken now, shipping will start on July 1.
This is a great mid-size size model at 22" tall. Larger than the Dr. Zooch Saturn V, a more manageable size than the Estes version.
I have built one in the past.
This is a very well engineered kit -
Highly Recommended!
Now that it is available, a blog build is coming -
(Frank C., keep an eye out for it!)
(Pre)Order sent in. After reading your previous posts on this model I knew I had to have one. Is this the one that was stuck in a tree of several weeks?
ReplyDeleteThe practice of pre-ordering seems to have become commonplace recently: Boyce Aerospace, Quest, and now BMS have used this practice. Some forum members have expressed disdain at sending in their money and waiting a month or more for a product. As long as the company is reputable, I have no problem doing this. It's the shady fly by nighters that you have to watch out for. Laters.
Hi BAR,
DeleteThis is a different design than the Saturn IV that was stuck in the tree. The upcoming BMS/Alway kit is a Saturn V.
You are safe pre-ordering from BMS!
Yahoo! So glad this model is being re-released.
ReplyDeleteHi Lonnie,
DeleteYep, it's a good one!
Hi Chris, My eyes are wide open and can't wait. I have oven a dozen of these kits unbuilt but I went ahead and order two more. You can't have to meany Saturn Vs. To me, this is the right size kit for a Saturn V. Not too big and not too small. The engines are attached to this Saturn V for a flight like the Dr Zooch Saturn V. To me a Saturn V is not complete if it doesn't fly with its engines. This kit coming out is great news. Anyone who buys one will not be sorry. Your blog is the best rocket blog going. Thanks. Now get back to the building and giving us the tips we need to know.
ReplyDeleteHi Frank,
DeleteI thought you'd like this news! BMS is sending me a kit, but I've started on the one you sent me a while back. I wanted to wait on the BMS Saturn V build until it was available to everyone. I agree with you - this version is the perfect size.
I procrastinated just long enough to miss out on the last batch of Estes Saturn Vs - not this time! Can’t wait to use your build tips on my own model.
