BMS/Alway Saturn V Build, Part 3, Nozzle Framework
Inside the nozzle shrouds is a three-piece plywood frame.
I pushed the rectangular center out of the bottom disk with the inside longer strut.
At the top end of the shroud small disk.
Looking at both sides you can see the differences in the diffused angle of the laser cut.
When gluing the disks on, be sure they are at a 90 degree angle to the long strut.
TIP: I did some light angle sanding so the edge of the disks would fit the inside angle of the fairing shrouds. This can also eliminate a raised ridge at the wide bottom of the fairing.
Don't overdo this and change the outside diameter. Notice the burnt side of the larger disk. I'm just knocking off the edge.
The bottom of the nozzle plate got some CWF to fill the seams.
The bottom disk has been sanded showing the rectangle slot fill in the bottom.
