There was a few questions raised in the instructions. I have mentioned them to Randy at Semroc.
It's interesting that a Micro Maxx downscale probably as difficult to construct as the full size original. Maybe harder?
There are the same amount of parts as in the original full-size kit, just smaller.
Very nice result - I’ve not built an MMX model or seen one launched, might have to give it a try. I’ve always found the graphics on the Blue Bird Zero a bit - unsettling. Der Red Max is an obvious spoof but the BBZ isn’t nor is it a scale (or even “scale-ish”) model of a real world prototype. Love the overall look, just not sure if I ever built one I’d use all the decals. But that’s just me - yours turned out pretty impressive, especially considering it’s only 13” long!

DeleteMicroMaxx models have their place. They are a quick launch at best! I never thought much about the decor. You're right, that eagle between the fins does look Nazi-ish.
Nice build. The cross decal also looks kinda Germanic. I weighed mine, it came in at 9 g. The higher profile, draggy Quest plastic saucer comes in at 8g. The saucer gets about 50 ft. apogee, so I'm gonna predict this gets about the same. Laters.

DeleteI always thought of the Quest MMX Saucer as a way to waste an engine. With less frontal area I would think the MMX BBZ would get better altitude than the saucer. Mine is loaded for launch, I just have to get to the schoolyard field.
