The black line isn't shown on the tape isn't shown here. (Shown in last post) I added that black line after trying to cut the first piece.
This is important for strength of the fairings -
DO NOT cut down the side of the fairings (shown on the left) with the angle of the blade perpendicular and straight into to the joint.
TIP: DO - Cut with the blade set at the same angle as the sides of the fairings. (shown on the right) Cutting at this angle keeps the tube support under the thin fairing edge.
Cut from the corner to the center. If you cut from the center out to the fairing corner, you run the risk of the blade cutting into the fairing skin.
Here's my finished fairing cuts.
I still have to re-glue some of the lifted edges.
The interior edges will get a wipe of CA glue. After sanding the hardened CA the edges will be smooth and reinforced.
