  1. Good to hear that they will be expanding the PSII line with more kits. Don't have any high hopes for a 1/45 Sat 1B: some quick number crunching yields a 6" dia. main tube and over 55" long! Estes doesn't have any motors to fly that unless they cluster 4 29mm BP motors. Then there's the question of igniting that with their "starters".
Though I'm sure there are some builders out there using the 1/45 LJ II Apollo capsule to make their own Sat 1bs and Vs using composite motors. Cheers.

    1. Hi BAR,
Yeah, that 1/45 Saturn 1B probably won't happen - too big and expensive! The 1/100 (Centuri style) Saturn 1B will happen though!

    2. From the discussions I’ve followed about the improvements made to the #1969 Saturn V kit it seemed that Estes had the 1b model in mind. Very curious to see if the molded plastic N-1 companion to the 1/200 Saturn V ever happens!

    3. A 1/45 Saturn 1B would make me sprain my arm, I'd be getting my wallet out so fast. A 1/100 version would be great too. I need the motivation to finish my Semroc one. Been looking at John Pursley's fins and other detail parts. I may go that way, since I wrapped the whole thing with some highly detailed wraps I found online and had Mark at Stickershock make up for me.

    4. I watched the video last night. Wow, John Langford sure has a lot of desire to offer a whole bunch of exciting new rockets, as well as being interested in what we want to see! Time to start selling off some extras I have, like two Estes 1:100 Saturn 1Bs. :-)
And I sure hope they do the N-1 companion for 1:200 Saturn V.
