These fins were laser cut from soft balsa. After the CWF and sanding, I wiped some medium CA glue down the leading edge with a Q-tip "brush". Go light and smooth, this will have to be lightly sanded after it dries.
This could help reinforce the leading edge of the soft balsa fins. Years ago I tried gluing on half-found dowels to get a strong round, leading edge. This could give me almost the same result.
This end treatment could end up with a leading edge that is harder than the surrounding soft balsa. When sanding and smoothing be careful not to sand into the softer wood down the sides.
Three fins, three tube standoffs and three tunnels were stuck down to a piece of cardboard for a shot of filler/primer.
The kit included a 12' old-style Semroc parachute.
I was never a big fan of the shroud line attachment disks. You had to weave the shroud lines through two small holes, tie the line then stick the disk onto the chute material. It's do-able, but requires some long tweezers and time.
