Estes Lunar Scout #7290 Build, Finished

This was a fun build and something outside the norm. It would be a great first flight of the day model.
I thought it was smart to integrate the launch rod holes into the center rings.
I wonder if the landing pads slow down the featherweight descent?

  1. Chris, now that is NEAT! May have to do one sometime.

    1. Hi J.W.,
It was a different build for sure! Just be ready for some extra planning, pre-painting and paint scraping if you want to build it like the face card decor.

  2. Excellent build sequence. Somewhat representative of the Centuri Flying Saucer build from the the 80's.

Thank you for the detailed build info. Will attempt after LGM build.

    1. Hi CEM,
"Somewhat" representative, they were both round!
The Estes Lunar Scout is much smaller.

    2. Hi Chris. The key word in my original comment above is "build". Following your build blog reminded me of the challenges presented when assembling the Centuri Flying Saucer kit in the 80's. Great work with the final appearance of your Lunar Scout build.

    3. Hi CEM,
I see what you mean now! It was definitely a card stock "build".
Hope the Little Green man build goes smooth -
