The instructions originally had the Vernier Shroud made out of balsa. To save time and grain filling, I'll make them out of basswood.
The stock is 1/4" wide by 7/32" high.
You'll find it easier to do some of the forming on the stick, then cutting the pieces to the correct length.
For reference, the bottom was marked.
The sides were marked at the halfway point with a pencil line drawn down the stick on both sides.
