The picture at the left shows the wrap edge matches.
This is a detailed model at a good price. There were a few glitches along the way, the miss-matched lower shroud could be a problem for a younger builder. This is listed as a Skill Level 4 kit.
While I'm not a big fan of stickers, the trim looks great. Two main colors in white and black with the third smaller orange trim.
Nicely done. Custom seems to have found it's niche in the marketplace with low cost LPR kits and bulk packs. And even their bigger kits like the Equinox and Land Viper are bargains. Only wish they would come out with new kits more frequently. It's been a few years. Cheers.
ReplyDeleteHi BAR,
DeleteI'll have to check the differences between the Custom Equinox and Estes Mean Machine. Producing new kits is a LOT of work! I'm happy to come out with new product occasionally.
The SLV looks great Chris - do you do any kind of clear coat, paint or Future, over self adhesive decals?
DeleteMy CR Equinox is a great flyer - the only recommended motor is a D12-5 and it really likes those. It doesn’t have the neat center connector like a Mean Machine but it’s not hard to modify as a center break instead of nose cone recovery. Mine built out to around 7 ounces but I left the self adhesive decal off. It’s a favorite for demo launches - kids love it!
Hi Openroad,
DeleteI rarely use a clear coat. Here in humid Florida, acrylic clear coats get very sticky outside on launch days. Sometimes I'll roll a little Future on the edges of a questionable decal, but never do an overall clear spray. I will do clear coats on home printed carded models. They definitely need it. Landing on dewey grass will smear the print.
Nice bird, Chris !
