Dr. Zooch Saturn 1 SA-5 Build Part 9 Engine Block

Even though you are told to install the engine block (CR205W) in the next step, I though it might be easier to do it now.

With the engine block resting against the top bend of the engine hook, it is just over 4" from the top of the tube. The dowel is marked to show how deep the block will be inside the T-20 engine mount tube.

An empty engine casing was inserted into the back of the mount and locked in place with the engine hook. The casing is used to be sure the engine block would sit square in tube.

The engine block was slid down the tube from the top until it rested on the engine hook. No glue is used yet.

With the engine block dry fitted in position, it was glued in place using the marked dowel.

Set a drop of white glue on the rounded end of the dowel and insert from the top of the tube. Try not to hit the inside of tube with glue. You want the glue drop to go down to the engine block / body tube joint.

Use the drawn dowel line as a depth gauge. When the dowel line is even with the top of the tube, you should be at the top of the engine block.

Set a glue drop and use the rounded dowel end to spread the glue into a fillet.
It'll take four drops of glue to make a fillet all the way around the engine block.

If you get any glue on the inside of the tube, use the dowel sides to pick it up.
