I have to back track a little here -In Step 14, you set the lower end of the tower jig on the top of the capsule. Using a dowel, you make "half-holes" by pressing the dowel into the balsa.
You have one shot at getting this right, be sure the jig is level!
Throughout the capsule construction, you go back and forth between two sets of instructions. I almost forgot the stabilizing plates in step 18C.
Mine didn't fit very well over the bump on the balsa to cone. The picture on the left shows the space over the balsa lip. I marked the intersection of the shroud and balsa cone. The middle picture shows the vane fit after shaping the bottom with a small diamond file.
It's probably not "true scale" but I want to get this one finished!
