Sometimes when I sand down the filler, the nose cone shoulder ends up overhanging the edge of the body tube.
I usually sand the nose cone back to the right diameter with a sanding block and the nose cone in a scrap piece of body tube.
This seems like a lot of balsa to fill for such a small model.
In the center right is the lug with the dowel standoff.
An old casing was slid into the rear of the upper stage to keep primer out of the engine mount tube. I shot just the back end of the assembly with primer to check the fit of the shroud.
This shot is the upper section upside down with the transition shroud facing up.
Look close at the shroud edge where it meets the BT-50 tube. There is a raised area where the edge didn't get glued down.
This will be fixed in the next post.
