I put a little bit of glue on the tab ends and burnished them down.
A bead of white glue is set on the exposed edges. Even out the bead with a fingertip.
After the glue bead dries, sand it with 400 grit. This gives the card stock sides a smooth, rounded edge that will really show when painted.
Hang onto it - you'll find a use it down the road.
Not exactly a gotcha but I found that the narrow “neck” of the fins to be rather fragile - very easy to crease that spot. It didn’t seem to hurt the overall integrity of the joint but keeping it straight without creating a crease was a challenge.
ReplyDeleteHi Openroad,
DeleteI ran into the same problem. I could see before a test fit that the cardstock could crease at that narrow "neck" and tried to be careful. Two fins did crease.
I did a fix, the post is coming up in few days.
