This was something very different from Estes!
A good build challenge with interesting kit materials.
The view from the top above,
The the view of the underside with the black vinyl covering on the inside tube.
The canopy is a tough mask.
The metallic paint worked well here.
The front end with the (display) landing skid in place.
Thanks for this series. I think I'm ready to tackle my DARC-1, now!
ReplyDeleteGreat Derek!
DeleteI hope the blog build helps out.
Well done! This kit is a bit more challenging than I had realized when seeing the pictures.
ReplyDeleteHi Leo,
DeleteAt first I thought it would be a cardstock shroud. Cutting out the plastic shroud can be a challenge.
Hi Chris,
ReplyDelete"This was something very different..."
You got that right. I probably won't build this kit but I learned a lot from your build techniques.
Hi Jimmy,
DeleteI have never built a rocket kit like this one -
Love the variation of the Estes logo on the fins.
ReplyDeleteHi Lonnie,
DeleteWait until you see the variation of the Estes logo in the Vesta Intruder kit...
Hi, Chris,
ReplyDeleteGreat build! As always, up to your perennially excellent model building standards.
Thanks Ed!
DeleteI admire anyone who takes this on.
ReplyDeleteHi Daniel,
DeleteIt's a do-able kit for anybody with some rocket building experience. You just have to slow down on the cutting being careful around the thinner outside rounded edges of the shroud.
