They also show Q2G2 igniters as out of stock until September.

Out of curiosity I just called Quest.
I was told they are "having trouble getting them from the supplier."
"It could be later this year" before they are available again.

"I have been told by someone who would know that there is yet another totally unnecessary regulatory effort aimed at protecting shippers from shipping-related rocket igniter incidents (that have never occurred) that will require igniters with regulation compliant pyrogen coatings like that on the new Estes "Starters" used with the Estes 29mm BP E and F motors. The pending Q2G2 igniter delay might be due to development process of a regulation compliant pyrogen. Note they're already referred to as Q2G2 "Starters," not igniters on one retailer's site.
Edit: Assuming that the coating on the new Estes "starters" is a pyrogen and not just a conductive coating that simply heats up like a nichrome wire."
