Center and press the fairing piece between the fins, noting how the outside edges but up against the fin fairings.

The sides of the #7 pieces had to be cut in a slight arc to fit the sides.
On the right shows how many narrow trims were made on the sides to fit the open area.

Not really surprised that you had to change the shape of those pieces -- the join between the conical-shaped fairings and the cylindrical airframe is probably not going to be a straight line, but either bowed in or bowed out (can't say offhand -- it's a bit more complex than that join between the fins and body tube on the Centuri Bandito),

DeleteThe instructions don't mention trimming the fairing sides to fit! I wonder how many young builders simply glued the oversize #7 pieces over the fairing sides.
