Estes Green Eggs, #7301 Finished

If you've been in the hobby for a while, you'll recognize the look of the old Scrambler.
This is a big model, should get a good ride with 24mm D and composite E engines.
EDIT: I didn't mention, another recommended engine (carrying an egg) is the C11-3.
The upper picture shows the model before doing a double layer decals to get the colors more opaque.

  1. Chris, did your model have a mount that would take an E, or are you speaking of composite Es in the "good ride with D and E engines" comment?

I build a production Green Eggs early this year and it can only accommodate 2.75 inch long motors. This is one area where it is different from the H-L exclusive Olympus which uses a number of the same parts.

    1. Hi Bernard,
I should have mentioned the C11 engine, but with the egg weight I don't think that would be much of a boost. In the post I was referring to the Estes D12 and 24mm composite Es. Thanks - I've updated the post.

  3. Great build, Chris. Yup, definitely brings back Scrambler memories.
I rather like the green egg capsule on this version.

    1. Hi Ed,
Yep, in the end I really don't mind the clear green payload.

  4. Chris, She looks great, I think I am going to do the same thing. How did you like using the Krylon White paint?

    1. Hi David,
I've used it as an undercoat on one model and base coat for the Semroc Micro Mars Lander. So far - things are very good! Just like I remembered it, a bit transparent and requires maybe one more coat for full coverage. No re-coat time worries!
