Estes Saros, K-54 Build, Fin Can Build, Part 6, Adapter Fill and Fix TIP
I've never seen a balsa piece so dinged up before.
Along with all the tube dents, the shoulders weren't well defined. This will take some extra work.
CWF was brushed on the lower half over the shoulder. I didn't paint the upper half so I could hold onto it with my fingers.
The excess was wiped off and smoothed out a bit with a fingertip.
While the CWF was still very wet, the adapter was pushed into a scrap piece of BT-50 tube down to the shoulder and turned.
This leaves a bead of CWF at the base. After it dries the filler is sanded off. When finished the shoulder is built up and slightly higher than it was before.
