Estes Saros, K-54 Build, Fin Can Build, Part 9, Ends and Edges
Even thought the fins were basswood, there is still some grain to fill. You don't have to use CWF but filler/primer will smooth any grain lines.
This picture shows a fin side after sanding off most of the primer.
I marked the fin lines with one directly over the fin tab seam.
The assemblies weren't glued together yet so I could line up the two short launch lugs with an aluminum angle.
Here's all the segments slid together with no glue to see how it looked overall.
This is a tall, skinny model with leetle fins.
Because the model is so long, it's hard to get an even spray coat over the entire body.
I shot the upper section with the 20/50 adapter with gloss white.
The lower BT-50 and fin can section was shot separately.
