Note the small space between the card stock plate and left edge of the blue decal. Earlier I mentioned the importance of using the marking and placement illustration in the instructions.
If you marked the ring and spaced the fins correctly you should have good spacing of the blue solar panel decals.
Try a dry fit of the fin decals before soaking to figure out the spacing.

Here's how I set the fin decals trying to find the best visual spacing.
I don't do overall clear coats on decals.
The solar panel decal edges are right on the edge of the ring tube. These ends could curl and peel.
I did do a wipe of Future along the edges to be sure they stayed down.
