Paint can get into the end of a lunch lug. If the lug isn't clear, your rocket can get stuck on the rod during boost.
TIP: Sharpen a dowel in a pencil sharpener. Leave the sharpened point rough. The roughness can help reduce any paint or a rough edge.
Insert the sharp end in the launch lug and turn the dowel. Don't turn it hard in the lug, just try to clear the rough end and round out the lug.
On the left is the before, there is a small glue or paint blob on the inside of the lug edge. (Enlarge the picture to see the glue blob.)
On the right is after using the dowel. Much better!
