While most of my cutting is done with a break-off blade knife, there are times when you need a style #11 blade in an X-Acto #1 handle.
You can find a 100 pack of #11 X-Acto brand blades online for $25.00 dollars or more before shipping charges are added.
I found this 100 pack of #11 Excel blades on Ebay for $9.50 + $2.25 shipping for a total of $11.75!
That's a little under 12 cents each.
There might be some 100 packs left - CLICK HERE
Yeah, I'm cheap. Trust me, these blades are just as sharp as the X-Acto blades and are made in the U.S.
Yes, the Excel blades are fine. The only difference between the two are the Excel blades are slightly wider than the X-Acto.
ReplyDeleteI'll have to check that Lonnie!
DeleteI didn't notice a difference in the blade thickness. It was just too good of a deal to pass up.
Not the thickness of the blade, the width. The advantage of the Excel blade is that my X-Acto knife's clear plastic cap got loose and would fall off. The wider Excel blade cuts a little bit into the cap to hold it in place.
ReplyDeleteI may be even cheaper. I like to re-sharpen my xacto blades on a DMT XX-fine stone. Maybe I just like sanding too much. http://www.amazon.com/DMT-XX-Fine-Pocket-Diamond/dp/B00GUKADN8
ReplyDeleteHi Eero,
DeleteI used to sharpen blades too. Once I break off the very tip of a #11 blade I throw it away. I use my break-off blade for almost everything now. No real need to get out the sharpening stone with those.
