"Once again, Estes has brought back the famous Saturn V! This famed rocket was the first vehicle to send man to the moon and is one of the finest 1:100th scale models kits ever produced. Scaled from official NASA drawings, the finished model is 43.25 inches tall and lifts off to about 350 feet on a E30-4 composite motor.
We have updated every plastic part in this kit and you won't be disappointed! Accurate Apollo II body wraps, detailed blow molded transition, easier to assemble escape tower, injection molded fins and highly detailed removable display nozzles that doubles as a stand.
FOR A LIMITED TIME, WHILE WE CELEBRATE THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF SENDING MAN TO THE MOON, WE'VE INCLUDED A "BONUS!"
Estes is no longer recommending the D12 for this model. The E12-4 and E30-4 are now the engine suggestions.

Wow. 90 smacks for a model rocket!
ReplyDeleteI will definitely be getting one, though. I've never had a SatV in my fleet. I'm hoping they'll be available at Hobby Lobby.
I've got over $2,000 in my Sheri's Saturn V.
DeleteThe price has gone up a bit but that's no surprise. I'm thinking Hobby Lobby won't have the big 1/100 scale Saturn but sell the 1/200 scale Saturn V due to shelf space.
ReplyDeleteThey’ve also added replacement plastic fins for the 1969 Saturn V:

AC Supply has it listed too, $53.99, available “Late December” with an email notification link.
I hope they sell the capsule separately like they did in the past.
ReplyDeleteWow. $90.00 a kit. Guess I there will be some scratch but Saturn-V being flown. The 1/200 scale would sell well at Hobby Lobby with the coupon.
