Viking to Cherokee T?

We've all got a few Viking kits in the build pile -
Here's what Stan Huyge did with his - A Cherokee T, the "T" designates the Estes 13mm engines.
It looks like the Viking fins were used with the outside tips rounded off. The fins might not have as wide a span as a Cherokee D, but this looks good to me!
This was Stan's first try at home print decals.

  1. I don't have a few Vikings in the build pile. But that is darn lovely.

    1. Hi Bob,
I did have a Bob Harrington carded Cherokee D model at one time, BT-5 based. It never occurred to me to use a Viking kit for a Cherokee D style model.

  2. Had bought a handful of Viking kits a while back as they looked like they'd make great kitbash material. Never occurred to me that I could do a mini clone of the Cherokee (does the "Could've had a V8" gesture -- https://youtu.be/ld8eAH0MW00 ). Gonna have to dig one out of the stockpile, go over some of the applicable posts from your blog (namely topics relating to the fiberboard fin material) and self-made decals... thanks!

    1. Hi Naoto,
I agree, it is a great idea and a maybe a better use for the Viking fin design.
