While I like the white paint and trim shown on the face card, that would probably add too much weight to the finished glider.
This glider is small! Felt tip markers will make it easier to see in the sky and add very little weight.
A thin outline was drawn first with a fine tip marker. The rest was filled in with a wide point permanent marker.
Here's a side view showing the darkened bottom wing. Notice the raised "elevon" at the rear of the wing. This is automatically formed by the curved slot in the glider body.
There is a Star and Bar decal stapled to the kit bag. This is printed on a white decal paper.
TIP: When cutting out a white backed decal, you have to cut right at the color border edge. Take it slow with some sharp scissors.
While decals don't stick well to rough balsa, I'll give it a try.
