I got a notice that the new Estes Super Mars Snooper is now available.
When the Aerotech Mantis Launcher posts are complete in another day or two, I'll be starting the Super Mars Snooper build. I have assembled three of the Snoopers so there will be some tips along the way!
That’s going to be a fun build to watch! I’m looking forward to picking up an SMS - there was a bit of negative opinion on the ‘net about the choice to only upsize it to a BT-55 body tube but I think it’s a good choice - any bigger and it wouldn’t be flyable on BP 24mm motors.

DeleteThe Super Mars Snooper is big enough! When models get above 2 feet tall I find them a bit unmanageable.
Kind of on the fence on this one. I'm overjoyed to see a classic model appear again... but an upscale makes me hesitant (got limited space, so bigger models pose a problem). On the other hand, being a somewhat moderate upscale (from BT-50 size of original to BT-55 for this one) makes it more manageable than something that's BT-60 or larger -- so I'm thinking "maybe?"
