Instead of trying to align the engine hook with a line drawn on the tube, I find it easier to glue the hook in place first then mark the tube.
I cut a 1/2" wide strip of copy paper to cover up the exposed rough end of the yellow tube. This strengthens the tube end and makes for easier finishing.
A glue stick was used to adhere the paper wrap. The strip ends were set underneath the engine hook.
Now the mount can be glued into the white center tube. the paper wrap will stop the slide at 1/2" when the wrap butts up against the end of the center tube.
Now you can mark the tubes using the engine hook as an alignment with the line on the guide.
The largest diameter rear tube gets the wrap with six lines.
All the lines are drawn down the length of the tubes. Pay special attention to the "Center" line marks.
