LAUNCH! Orlando R.O.C.K. Monthly December 3, 2011

Check out the angles on the launch rods!
We had wind gusts over 20 m.p.h. There was a few holds while waiting for the winds to die down. A few models drifted and landed in trees to the West.

Karey Mozier flew his beautifully made Model Minutes M.O.M. rocket with a B6-4. Roger Smith took the impressive launch shot.

DUH! PHANTOM was launched to an estimated 400' with a B6-4. This one isn't transparent like on the old Estes Phantom, instead decals are placed on the opaque body tube that say "Engine Inside", "Cardboard Tube" or "Wadding?"

It drifted to the edge of the treeline and got stuck on limbs about five feet up.

While recoveries were made in the grove of trees, a nose cone and this rocket were found from previous launch dates.
This is Dan Woller's THE MELTDOWN.
Brian, Jim, Haley and Carl pull out the F32 engine.
This rocket was lost in the trees a few months back and still in good shape. We thought about flying it again today.

The rocketry bug has bit Dave Ribakoff. Today was his first flight with an Estes GUARDIAN loaded with a B6-4.
The rocket was renamed after his cat Umi.

He's already aiming towards his Level 1 certification and wants to study sugar motors.

Roger Smith caught another rare MicroMaxx launch picture of my MMX ZOOM BROOM carded downscale.

Haley Helms found a practical sun shade.

Also flown:
ORBITAL TRANSPORT carded downscale with an Estes A10-3t engine.
After a good straight boost, the orbiter didn't have much of a glide.
CD SPOOL with a C6-3. Even in the wind it had a straight boost and fast tumbling recovery.
Odd'l Rockets BREAK-AWAY flew to an estimated 500' with a Estes B6-4. This was the prototype model of the final kit design. High boost and break-apart recovery.
