The dent was filled with Elmer's Carpenter's Wood Filler. It was thinned with a little bit of water, not as thin as you would normally use for filling balsa.
I'm surprised how hard the dried CWF is when it's not mixed to a brushing consistency.
Here's how it looked after the first sanding with 400 grit.
Two shots of gray primer, sanding between coats and it's ready for the final black coat.
