Quest/Enerjet Minotaur Q5015 Build, Part 1, Parts

This is the most detailed of all the Quest Advanced Rocketry kits.
Six detailed SRBs between three fins.

2" diameter and 28" tall.

It looks like the design might have been inspired by the United Launch Alliance Delta II rocket.
All the SRBs and that recognizable Teal color on the body.

Lots of parts for the six SRBs
The SRB tubes are lengths of BT-20s, not something you'd usually see in a Quest kit which normally uses Metric diameter tubes.

There are two big sheets of pressure-sensitive decals (stickers).
The box advertises a 18" fabric chute, my kit included a 16" parachute.

On the right are the parts for the SRBs.
The instructions says vacu-form nose cones - my kit had balsa nose cones.
To the rear, a small nose cone becomes a convincing nozzle bell. It is glued to a black ring and slides into the back of the BT-20 tube.

  1. Quest certainly gets plenty of mileage out of those 2” tubes and that nose cone mold, my Mean Green was a fun build and a reliable flyer - all it needs is a payload section added which the decal design should accommodate nicely.

    1. Hi Openroad,
I've now built all the Quest Advanced Rocketry kits. I didn't know until I started them that they all used the same 2" tube and the same nose cone.
It surprised me, but the Mean Green was my favorite in the series.
According to the new Quest/Aerotech website, all the older Quest Advanced kits are now part of the Enerjet by Aerotech line.
