As mentioned before -
GOTCHA: Two clay weights are shown in the instruction drawings.
FOUR are supplied in the kit.
The instructions make no mention of the two additional clay pats. Interesting oblong centering rings and the assembly jig.
Two sheets of laser cut balsa
Oh boy - STICKERS!
This kit was sold at WalMart in the "Launchables" packaging. Estes probably figured it would be assembled by a kid, not a 65 year old man.
I doubt the blue stars and black dots will conform to the curves of the nose cone. I'll be redrawing these for home print water slide decals.
I guess I have an updated instruction sheet. It shows 4 clay weights on the front page. Interesting thing is there was a sticker on the bag from the hobby shop saying that this model has been known to fly erratically, do so at your own risk. A disclaimer from liability I suppose. Perhaps Estes added more weight after early reports of erratic flights?
ReplyDeleteHi BAR,
ReplyDeleteComing up in the build - The engine mount wouldn't fit as far back as the instruction drawings show. That certainly could effect the C/G and may have made the additional nose weight necessary.
