Not too many pictures today - I forgot to charge my camera's battery! It went dead before the end of the launch day.
Gary's Anemometer showed wind speeds around 15 mph so a few rockets ended up in the trees. Kirby was busy with the rocket retrieval pole.
Two first launches for me -
The New Way BOXIE BIRDIE flew with an A10-3t in it's tail.
Stable to 100' with a loud pop at ejection.
Just finished on the blog - my new ASP RAM.
First launch was with an A8-3 with recovery under a taped closed 12" parachute. Very stable to 200' est.
The first rocket ended up in the trees. Rocket #2 was recovered with both eggs un-cracked!
The booster did "glide". While most watched the booster, the sustainer was lost!
Kirby launched his "Hippy" themed Mean Machine for a perfect flight with a D12.
On the outside are four C6-5s with a D12-5 in the center.
Only two engines ignited. Still a stable flight and recovery.
With the high wind gusts, I only launched four today.
On the left is an old Centuri plan build, the FINLESS. I've had stable launches with A8 motors, but with the wind it went unstable with a B6-2.
On the right is a favorite Gooney, the HONEST GOON. Today a textbook flight with a B6-4.
Big winds and a big turnout of flyers and spectators.
