The mask line is 2" from the front end of the body tube. The glider mask is about 1/32" behind the canard.
Red was sprayed and the tape pulled.
The mask lines came out clean and sharp.
In the upper right body tube picture above you can see some red over spray.
Some quick wipes with a damp magic sponge took off the red blotch. You can remove small bits of paint like this - Just don't wait too long so the paint won't set up.
Using the clear tape, then the masking tape?
ReplyDeleteHi Bill,
DeleteClear tape, then masking tape and a plastic grocery bag covering the rest.
I lay down a strip of Scotch Tape and draw a black, wide point Sharpie line down the center. Wipe off the excess black ink with a paper towel. Cut the tape strip in half down the middle of the wide ink line using a straightedge and knife. You now have two Scotch Tape masking strips. I mark the tape with a Sharpie because you can't see the edge on clear tape.
Scotch tape gives me the same color separation and sharpness as the more expensive Tamiya tape.
