I Wish Manufacturers Would Do This -
If a kit decal sheet has some extra space, include a few extras or duplicates.
This allows the builder a first "test soak" and test the transfer without risking larger necessary decals on the model. Sometimes I use the Estes or Quest logo decals as a test.
This could come in handy if the decals are older. The test decal would let you know if you might need a clear coat or Microsol liquid decal film before soaking.
A big yes to this one. In general, it would be good if the decal sheet anticipated the needs of the modeler, and was not solely dedicated to making it as small as possible.
ReplyDeleteThat's one of the things that i like when a model includes alternate scheme (which you might find on some plastic models). I've also seen occasions where a spare marking was provided -- especially in cases where you might need to cut it to fit across different parts (e.g. gets placed over landing gear door, with one section on the door and the other on the wing or fuselage)
