My yellow engine tube already had a pre-cut slit.
The yellow tube doesn't have a glassine wrap so it is not quite as strong as a standard BT-20 tube.
Be sure to do a wipe of CA glue on the lower end. Don't do a CA coat inside the upper end, the wood glue won't stick to it when gluing in the engine block.
The tube is marked for the two centering rings, 1/2" from each end.
TIP: Mark the centering ring positions in a few locations around the tube. It's easier to line up and the ring will be straight.
TIP: Kit instructions usually suggest masking tape retention over the engine hook. I use a more permanent and flexible electrical tape.
The instructions don't say to do so -
I cut notches to clear the engine hook and passage of the Kevlar line.
OLD SCHOOL: For extra strength, I also add a drop of glue on the engine hook slit.
