Crappy Order!

Well, we've all been there . . .
I ordered some tubes and parts.
Most all were good - check out the ends of these two -

There was no damage to the outside of the box. There was no padding and things rattled around inside.

Here's where I have a problem.
I guess I don't have to wait for ejection snap-back to put an Estes smile dent in these two adapters.

Sure I can fill the dents. I just shouldn't have to.

  1. There is one company in particular (who shall remain nameless), where this is a problem. Bent/crimped tubes, missing items from order, sparse/inadequate packing. Although they have been good about replacing damaged/missing items, I'm getting tired of complaining about it. Emailed the owner to let him know about the inadequate protective packing. Every other vendor ships their tubes with bubble wrap taped around the tubes, not loose and rattling around. Problem is, this company is the sole source for many of the parts I need for my clone builds. Hopefully they straighten things out. Rant over!

    1. P.S. Chris, Are you going to be building a Mars Snooper or Nike Ajax clone? Just guessing.

    2. Hi BAR,
Your response: ". . . this company is the sole source for many of the parts I need for my clone builds" tells me it's the same vendor that sent this order. I have heard from others that their orders were incomplete. In addition to the dents, the shoulders on the adapters aren't cut clean.
Nope, these aren't going on a Mars Snooper or Nike Ajax.

  2. Look at this as an opportunity: you can now practice distressing techniques in order to build a "relic'd" rocket. It's the next craze!

    1. Hi Lonnie,
Yeah, just like those (new) relic guitars. I never thought of building a rocket with nicks, burn marks, pin holes in the parachutes and smiley dents already on the model. I could charge more on Ebay!
