Estes MRN Orbital Transport Laboratory Build, Part 1, Parts
Here's almost all of the parts -
Interesting that the fins are cut from BFS-40 balsa stock, or 1/8" thick balsa.
The dowel is 1/8" diameter. The Engine Hook (pictured above) won't be used because of the card stock nozzle.
The the LL-2B launch lug seems long at 2 3/8".
The first picture (above) was taken before I got the BMC-60AB Gemini Titan nose cone from BMS. This rocket has a short 5" body tube, the nose cone shoulder seems too long. I'll probably shorten it to make room for wadding and the 12" parachute.

I had to shorten the nose cone shoulder on mine to make room for the parachute. The leftover piece of balsa would make a nice plug for BT-60 or even a hefty ejection baffle in another project.
ReplyDeleteYes that shoulder is way longer than the Estes original.
