With the overlay skins, the fins seem very strong.
The long crescent center vanes continue the "swelled body" look below the bulbous nose cone shape.
The nose cone is as long as the main body tube!
I've never seen anything in this shape before.
I like how Estes is combining the Space Corps storyline with the new Sci-Fi models.
That's a really great design from John Boren. Really captures the alien vibe.

Also worry about those fins on landing, regardless of reinforcement. Will await launch reports. :)

DeleteI added some metallic black to the engine mount assembly to break up the overall dark gray color.
I can't comment on the fin strength as the two builds weren't launched.
I like it! Has kind of a subdued, sinister look.

DeleteIt does look sinister, the nose cone is my favorite part of the rocket - except for the canopy masking.
I picture the alien lifeforms that would emerge from this vessel to be decidedly spider-like.....

DeleteSine Wave - That's the best description for the mid body crescent vanes. They carry the ellipse lines from the nose cone shape.
Yeah, it's an extremely well-conceived and executed design, unlike anything I can recall.
