Estes Saturn V Build Part 36 Tunnels

Here you can see the difference in height before and after sanding.
The half round on the left is the original, the right tunnel has been reduced in height to match the vacuform wrap.

I've yet to round out the top of the right tunnel.

The ends of the vacuform tunnels are not at a true 90 degree "cut". I did have to sand a slight angle on the dowel ends to fit.
It is subtle but it will get you a better joint between the two ends.

Mark each half dowel and and tube location as you fit them.
There may be small differences in length and end angle between two tunnels.

Here's a good example of a slip fit of the tunnel joints.

The fit was a combination of trimming the wrap "lip", lowering the height of the tunnel and sanding the tunnel end at a slight angle.

The rounded top of the tunnels will be sealed and sanded before gluing to the body tube.

Time spent on build: 1:00
Total time on build so far: 36:45
