Some of you may know about and already practice this.
When installing an igniter, (before the plastic plug) I'll usually turn the wires away from the launch lug.
On minimum diameter models, the launch rod is already close to the engine and igniter.
This keeps your micro clips away from the launch rod and another possible problem with shorts.
This is even more important on Odd-Ball rockets.
The ends of the igniter wire are bent in a tight "U" shape, or as Quest calls them - "bunny ears".
This gets you more contact area with the micro clips. You've doubled the chances of good electrical contact in the small tip of a micro clip.
I bend one wire on the top of the paper, the other wire goes below.
This is is an idea from Mr. Gibson, I first saw this at a Tampa TTRA launch
Write the engine designation on the white side of the paper tape.
Even if you forgot which engine type was installed, you'll never have to pull it out to check before launch.
This is especially handy if your engine was a friction fit using masking tape.
The "X" tells me that wadding was also installed.
Years ago I pulled off the paper tapes. Not anymore! It helps keep the wires separate and in the correct shape for insertion in the nozzle.
