I'm already prepping for the Orlando R.O.C.K. section launch this Saturday.
Sometimes I'll pull out models that are suited to the season or holiday.
The "Raisin' Maize" corn rocket seems appropriate for the Fall.
It's always been a pain to pack the small 8" parachute in the BT-5 body tube.
I decided to replace it with the longest crepe streamer that would comfortably eject.
I don't use paper tape to hold a attachment line to the streamer.
Use the Permanant (plastic) reinforcement lables. These are rolled in the small Avery box. Paper labels will tear. Usually the paper labels are sold on a flat sheet, not on a long rolled strip.
Place one round labled on each side of the folded over streamer.
Here I'm punching a round hole with the rotary punch.
There is a thin cardstock piece backing up the soft crepe paper for the punch.
It's hard to punch a clean, sharp hole without the cardstock backing in place.
You'll hear the punch "click" when it has punched through the two layers of crepe and cardstock.
When tieing on the attachment string, don't cinch it down tight against the crepe paper.
Make a loop with the string, keeping the knot away from another weak fold at the top.
