The star points are glued next.
You probably could sand an angle so they fit without a separation line. That would shorten the width and require larger ones to be cut out.
The angled spin tab flats glue to the outside.
The structure is getting pretty strong now.
Flat center horizontals are last.
The tabs on the "L" pieces fit into the slots.
The outside ends didn't quite meet up with the cage sides.
Your experience so far looks pretty close to mine. Gaps here and there, cured by fillets everywhere. I am still debating putting some small cross-braces under the angled spin tab flats at the edges, speculating that they could be a weak spot under stress of larger motors.

DeleteIf I were to build it again, I'd reinforce the joints below the small tips of the star triangles. If the "L" piece tips fit tighter against the cage sides it would be a much stronger unit.
Yeah. I think I'm just going to hope that my abundance of fillets will do the job. We will see!
